Mohammad Robin, a 34-year-old from Gazirtek, Mollahbari, a village in the Kalikaprasad Union of Bhairab, Kishoreganj, has become a well-known figure among football fans in Bangladesh after forming a remarkable friendship with Brazilian football star Neymar Jr. Known for his incredible skill and playmaking on the field, Neymar is a dream hero to millions of football lovers, but for Robin, the connection runs deeper than just fandom—it is a genuine bond of friendship.

The relationship began when Robin, who had been living in Brazil for over 17 years, was fortunate enough to meet Neymar’s childhood friend, Joao Celso. This chance encounter would set the stage for Robin's close involvement with Neymar's family. Celso helped Robin realize his long-standing dream of meeting Neymar. In late 2020, Robin traveled to Paris, where Celso took him to Neymar’s house. There, Robin met Neymar for the first time and struck up a conversation. Neymar was intrigued by Robin’s background and his ability to speak several languages, including Spanish and Portuguese, which helped him get closer to Neymar and his family.

Robin recalls how during their first meeting, he shared details about his homeland, Bangladesh, and his aspirations. Neymar listened intently, and from that moment on, a mutual respect and curiosity developed. Robin’s ability to communicate in multiple languages, including Spanish and Portuguese, became a significant asset in building a relationship with Neymar’s family, as these were the languages they were most comfortable with.

Robin’s deepening friendship with Neymar led to more frequent interactions and collaborations. He became the secretary to Neymar’s father, Neymar Sr., which further cemented his place in the Brazilian footballer's inner circle. Over the years, Robin has traveled extensively with Neymar’s family, including a memorable trip to Dubai to celebrate New Year's Eve with Neymar, his family, and business partners. Neymar’s family, including his father and older son, David Luka, traveled on private jets while Robin and other members flew commercially. After the celebrations, Neymar flew off to Saudi Arabia on his private jet, while Robin continued his journey with the rest of the family.

One of the most exciting and surreal moments for Robin came when Neymar's father invited him to join a private event in the United States after their Dubai trip. Robin has been fortunate enough to travel with Neymar's family to various international destinations, including the United States and Saudi Arabia, over 40 times in the last four years.

Despite his friendship with Neymar, Robin prefers to introduce himself as a successful businessman in Brazil. He owns significant farmland in the Paraná region, which is known for its fertile soil, making it ideal for soybean cultivation. With over 5,000 acres of land, part of it in Paraguay and the rest in Brazil, Robin is one of the first Bangladeshis involved in large-scale agricultural ventures in Latin America. Alongside farming, he is also involved in football in Brazil, serving as a director of a second-tier Brazilian football club and a football transfer agent. He also sells football jerseys and various football-related equipment in Brazil.

Robin's connection to football extends beyond his personal interactions with Neymar. He remains deeply invested in the sport, offering opportunities for young footballers to train with top clubs in Brazil, including Neymar's childhood club, Santos. During a recent trip to Bangladesh, Robin visited the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) in Savar, where he interacted with young footballers and shared his experiences with Neymar. He also pledged to help provide training opportunities for BKSP players at Brazilian football clubs and gifted five high-quality footballs to the institution.

Despite his busy schedule, Robin is hopeful about bringing Neymar to Bangladesh one day. He shared that Neymar has expressed interest in visiting Bangladesh, but the timing has never worked out. However, Robin remains optimistic that, in the future, Neymar will be able to fulfill this wish.

Currently in Bangladesh, Robin plans to stay for a few days before traveling to Saudi Arabia. His next destination remains undecided, but he hopes to visit either Brazil or the United States. As Neymar's birthday approaches on February 5, Robin may join the celebrations wherever they are held. The bond between Robin and Neymar has not only brought personal fulfillment to Robin but also opened doors for him to support the development of football in Bangladesh and Brazil.
