Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of the interim government, made his inaugural visit to the Secretariat on Wednesday (November 20) to attend the first meeting of the Advisory Council. The meeting is being held in the conference room of the Advisory Council located in Building 6 of the Secretariat.

Upon his arrival, Dr. Yunus was greeted by Law Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul and Industry Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan. This marks the Chief Adviser’s first official day at the Secretariat since the formation of the interim government.

During the meeting, a proposal to amend the International Crimes Tribunal Act through an ordinance was presented. The amendment would empower the tribunal to recommend trials for political parties accused of genocide.

To ensure the Chief Adviser’s safety, stringent security measures have been implemented in and around the Secretariat. Only vehicles carrying advisers, secretaries, and senior officials are being allowed entry, while public access has been completely restricted. Visitors are barred from entering the premises during this time.
