Franco-Bangla School, a prominent institution among the Bangladeshi expatriate community for promoting French language and culture, has inaugurated a new branch in the Metro Hoche area of the Paris suburbs. The opening ceremony was marked by a festive atmosphere and drew a diverse gathering of individuals from various professional and cultural backgrounds.

The event highlighted the school’s continued contribution to the advancement of French language education among expatriates, as well as its role in empowering the diaspora through various development-focused services. Attendees included figures from the fields of art, literature, journalism, and social organizations, along with many members of the local Bangladeshi community. The event was moderated by Shafiul Alam Sumon.

In his welcome speech, H. M. Amir, the founder and chairman of Franco-Bangla School, shared reflections from his educational and expatriate journey. He recounted that the school was born out of research into effective and efficient methods for learning French, with the aim of making the process more accessible to the Bangladeshi expatriate community.

Hailing from Domrakandi village in Bancharampur Thana, Brahmanbaria District, Amir graduated in English literature from Comilla University before moving to the United Kingdom in 2010. He later entered France in 2012 and secured legal permanent residency in 2015. In 2022, he earned a diploma in French language and culture from Sorbonne Nouvelle University. He is also pursuing an LLB degree from the University of London.

Amir noted that the Franco-Bangla School was established in 2013 and has since expanded beyond language instruction. Today, it offers a wide range of services including legal aid, driving lessons, graphic and multimedia courses, children’s homework support, as well as Bengali and English educational programs.

As part of its language research initiatives, the school has developed three comprehensive books in Bengali and English to help students prepare for DELF, TCF, and TEF French language proficiency exams. These books have already gained popularity among learners.

Speakers at the event included MC Institute Principal Badrul Bir Harun, Kaby Kamrul, poet Lokman Ahmed Apon, journalist Abdul Malek Himu, Sabul Ahmed, and several others. In their remarks, they praised the school's short-term programs for their growing popularity in Paris. They emphasized that these courses are playing a significant role for expatriates aspiring to settle permanently in France.

They also noted that the institution’s contribution goes beyond teaching language — it actively works to connect Bangladeshi expatriates with the French mainstream, fostering deeper cultural understanding and integration. Franco-Bangla School continues to build bridges between communities through its innovative approach to education and community engagement.
