Prominent student leaders Hasnat Abdullah and Sarjis Alam, known for their anti-discrimination campaigns, were injured in a road accident on Wednesday evening (November 27).
The incident occurred around 7:30 PM at Hazi Rasta Mor in Chunati Union along the Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar Highway. The duo was returning after paying respects at the grave of Advocate Saiful Islam Alif.
Eyewitnesses reported that their vehicle lost control and collided with a roadside structure. The impact left both Hasnat and Sarjis with injuries, though the extent of their condition remains unclear. Emergency responders and bystanders quickly transported them to a nearby hospital for initial treatment before they were referred to a specialized facility in Chattogram.
