Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship over conventional employment, stating that humans are born to be entrepreneurs rather than just workers. He delivered this message on Sunday morning at the inauguration of Building-2 of the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) in Agargaon, Dhaka, where he served as the chief guest.

Addressing the audience, Dr. Yunus said, “People are not born to work for someone else. They are born to create, innovate, and lead. Our goal should be to nurture that potential and provide opportunities for everyone to become entrepreneurs.” His remarks highlighted his long-standing vision of promoting self-reliance and fostering entrepreneurial thinking across society.

Dr. Yunus noted that the world is witnessing a growing diversity of entrepreneurs, and many individuals are exploring unconventional avenues for business and innovation. “We haven’t kept a formal list of these entrepreneurs, yet opportunities continue to expand. One of the main drivers behind this growth is technology, which connects people to global networks and resources like never before,” he added.

According to Dr. Yunus, technology now provides an unprecedented platform for people to develop their ideas, reach customers, and scale businesses without the traditional limitations of location or resources. He emphasized that it is now time to fully leverage technological advancements to empower individuals and communities alike.

The Chief Adviser also stressed the importance of recognizing each person’s unique abilities and creating pathways for them to pursue their goals. “We want to give every individual the chance to go wherever their skills and interests take them,” he said. “PKSF’s new building represents not just a physical space but a fresh beginning for initiatives that will support people in realizing their entrepreneurial potential.”

Dr. Yunus’s remarks came in the context of PKSF’s ongoing efforts to support microfinance, social development, and poverty alleviation programs across Bangladesh. By promoting entrepreneurship, he emphasized, the foundation aims to transform communities by enabling individuals to generate income, create employment, and contribute to the national economy.

He also underscored the role of inclusive opportunities, stating that development and growth should be accessible to all, regardless of background or social status. Providing the necessary resources, mentorship, and technological tools, Dr. Yunus said, will help cultivate a new generation of entrepreneurs capable of driving social and economic change.

The inauguration of the new PKSF building marks a significant milestone in the foundation’s mission to expand its programs and provide a supportive ecosystem for aspiring entrepreneurs. Dr. Yunus expressed hope that the new space would become a hub for innovation, collaboration, and skill development, encouraging people to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions with confidence.

In conclusion, Dr. Yunus reiterated his belief that entrepreneurship is not merely an economic activity but a fundamental expression of human potential. By fostering creativity, innovation, and self-reliance, he said, societies can overcome traditional limitations and achieve sustainable growth.

The event reflected PKSF’s commitment to nurturing talent and empowering individuals to take charge of their destinies, aligning with Dr. Yunus’s vision of a society where every person has the opportunity to become an entrepreneur and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
