21 More Hospitalized with Dengue in the Last 24 Hours

Dhaka, Jan 25 — In the last 24 hours, 21 new patients have been admitted to hospitals across Bangladesh due to dengue fever, according to a press release from the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) issued on Saturday.

The statement detailed the regional breakdown of new cases. Among the newly hospitalized, three patients were from the Barisal division (outside the city corporation areas), five from the Chittagong division (outside the city corporation areas), seven from the Dhaka division (outside the city corporation areas), one from Dhaka South City Corporation, and six from the Khulna division (outside the city corporation areas).

During the same period, 19 patients were discharged after recovering from dengue. So far this year, 840 patients have been discharged from hospitals after successful treatment. Since January 1, 2025, a total of 1,021 dengue cases have been reported. Of these cases, 60.2% are male patients, while 39.8% are female.

No new deaths from dengue were reported in the past 24 hours. However, since the beginning of 2025, nine fatalities have been recorded due to the disease. In comparison, throughout 2024, 101,214 cases of dengue were documented, with 575 deaths reported.
