Advisor to Pay Respects to Pope Francis in Rome

Professor Muhammad Yunus, the chief advisor, has traveled to Rome to pay his respects to the late Pope Francis. He departed from Qatar earlier today, Friday, with confirmation of his travel provided by the press wing of the chief advisor.

According to the press release, Professor Yunus is scheduled to arrive in Rome at 2:15 PM local time. Upon his arrival, he will be received by the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Italy, as well as the Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Vatican City.

Approximately one hour after landing, Professor Yunus is expected to visit St. Peter’s Square to offer his tribute to the late Pope Francis. The tribute is scheduled for 3:15 AM local time on Friday morning. The solemn occasion will mark the presence of international dignitaries and state representatives from around the world.

During the memorial at St. Peter’s Square, the Vicar General of Vatican City, Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, will formally welcome the chief advisor along with the Bangladeshi delegation. The event is set to be an official moment of respect and solidarity, reflecting the global mourning and reverence for the Pope’s enduring legacy.

The visit underscores the strength of international relations and the respect held by Bangladesh for global religious and moral leadership.
