Interim government Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus has announced plans to make preparations for the International Trade Fair a year-long endeavor in the future. He emphasized the need for greater participation and recognition of young entrepreneurs under 25, highlighting their potential to showcase their innovations on a global platform.

Speaking at the inauguration of the 29th Dhaka International Trade Fair-2025, held on Wednesday at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal, Professor Yunus outlined his vision for fostering young entrepreneurship. He stated that local-level competitions would be held in districts and sub-districts throughout the year to identify the best entrepreneurs. The top three or four performers from each region will be selected to participate in the final international event, with all expenses covered by the government.

The Chief Advisor underscored the importance of youth as the guiding force of the nation, expressing optimism about their ability to lead both the country and the world. He predicted a future where international youth would visit Bangladesh to learn from its young innovators, collaborate through joint ventures, and gain insights from their achievements.

He also announced the introduction of a dedicated section for young entrepreneurs in future trade fairs. This section will provide a platform for individuals under 25 to display their work and demonstrate their contributions to the economy.

As in previous years, the Ministry of Commerce and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) have jointly organized this year's trade fair. For the first time, pavilion and stall spaces have been allocated online across various categories, ensuring a transparent process. Additionally, e-ticketing has been introduced to enhance the visitor experience.

To facilitate access, dedicated bus services operated by BRTC and discounted Uber rides are being offered to attendees. The fair features two special memorials, the "July Square" and "Chhatrish Square," honoring the sacrifices made during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. Moreover, a "Youth Pavilion" has been established to inspire the younger generation to engage in export-driven trade.

This year’s layout includes 361 pavilions, stalls, and restaurants, allocated to domestic producers, exporters, general businesses, and international participants with full transparency. The trade fair also welcomes 11 foreign companies from seven countries, showcasing global engagement with Bangladesh's economy.

The month-long trade fair will run daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with extended hours until 10 p.m. on weekends.
