Sadia Sultana, a gold medal-winning shooter, has passed away at the Chattogram Medical College Hospital. She died today while undergoing treatment, leaving behind a legacy of sporting achievements.

Sadia had been battling mental health issues for a long time, and in a tragic turn of events, she attempted to take her own life by jumping from the roof of her house. After falling, she was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, she succumbed to her injuries.

Her tragic end follows years of personal struggles. In 2017, she had suffered severe burns in a fire accident, which led to a prolonged period of recovery. This traumatic experience, combined with her mental health challenges, greatly affected her life.

Sadia was an exceptional shooter who made her mark on the international stage. In 2010, she won a gold medal in the 10-meter rifle team event at the Commonwealth Games, bringing great pride to Bangladesh. However, after the 2013 Bangladesh Games, Sadia withdrew from competitive sports and was seldom seen in public. Her absence from the sports scene left many wondering about her well-being, and her struggles in recent years reveal the hidden challenges faced by athletes even after achieving success.

Her untimely death has left a void in the shooting community and among sports fans in Bangladesh. Many who knew her remembered her as a talented and dedicated athlete, whose promising career was marred by personal hardships.
