National Citizens’ Party (NCP) chief organizer for the southern region, Hasanat Abdullah, has declared a ‘March to Jamuna’ in protest of the government's failure to provide a clear roadmap for banning the Awami League. The announcement was made around 8:45 PM on Saturday from the mass gathering at Shahbagh.
During his address, Hasanat stated that since the earlier deadline passed without any official response from the interim government, protesters would now move from Shahbagh to the Rajshik intersection in front of Hotel Intercontinental.
Following his declaration, demonstrators gathered at Shahbagh began marching toward the vicinity of the Jamuna, near Hotel Intercontinental.
