The victims were Indrajit Das (35), a farmer from Halalpur in the Kolma Union; 14-year-old Shadhin Mia from Kheyarpur in the Abdullahpur Union; and 65-year-old Fulcha Begum from Ranjiganj village in Mithamoin, who was struck while gathering hay.

In Sunamganj, a college student named Rimon Talukdar, aged 22, was killed by lightning while he was in the Buriganga Haor near his home. The incident occurred in the early morning while he was tending to his cows. According to local sources, the weather suddenly changed, and as Rimon tried to seek shelter, he was struck by lightning. Tragically, he and the cattle he was tending both died on the spot.

Chandpur's Kachuya Upazila saw the death of 35-year-old farmer Bishkha Sorkar, who was struck by lightning while gathering hay in the village of Nohara in the northern part of the upazila. The incident occurred around noon, and Bishkha Sorkar, a mother of three daughters, was found dead before being taken to the hospital. The medical officer at the Kachuya Upazila Health Complex, Dr. Jahid Hossain, stated that there were no visible injuries on her body, suggesting she may have died from shock caused by the thunderstorm.

In Netrakona, a madrasa student named Arafat Mia, aged 10, was killed by lightning near his home in the Tiyashree Union. The tragedy occurred around 6 AM. Arafat was a student at a local madrasa and was the son of Abdus Salam. The death was confirmed by the Upazila Executive Officer, Oliduzzaman, who also mentioned that the family would receive financial assistance in accordance with government protocols.

The series of lightning strikes highlights the dangers posed by thunderstorms, especially in rural areas where people are often working outdoors. The local authorities and police in the affected districts have confirmed these fatalities, and efforts are being made to provide support to the bereaved families.
