The government has officially launched a mobile app called 'Labbayk' to assist Hajj pilgrims in carrying out their religious duties with ease. The app was inaugurated by Prime Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on April 28, 2025, at the state guesthouse, Jamuna. The app is designed to help Hajj pilgrims manage their journey and perform their religious rituals smoothly. This is the first time such an app has been developed and introduced by the government.

During the inauguration, Professor Yunus emphasized the importance of the app in facilitating Hajj pilgrims' religious practices. He stated that the app includes several features, including health services, that will significantly contribute to ensuring pilgrims can focus on their prayers and religious duties during the Hajj. The Prime Adviser also encouraged Hajj pilgrims to start using the app this year, with the goal of making it available at the early stages of the Hajj journey starting next year. This will help pilgrims plan their Hajj journey more effectively from the moment they begin thinking about their trip.

In his address, Professor Yunus provided clear directives to the relevant ministries and departments to ensure that the app is fully functional and ready for use by the time next year's Hajj pilgrimage begins. He suggested that the app should be made available to potential Hajj pilgrims as soon as they start considering their pilgrimage. This initiative will help streamline the process and make the entire Hajj experience more accessible and hassle-free.

The Prime Adviser also mentioned that Bangladesh will learn from countries with more advanced Hajj management systems and will share the technical aspects of this app with other countries that lack such resources. Bangladesh is willing to offer this technical support to these countries free of charge, which will foster international cooperation in Hajj management.

In addition to the app, the Prime Adviser also launched Hajj prepaid cards and Hajj roaming packages, which are aimed at further easing the financial and communication aspects of the pilgrims' journey. He highlighted that the introduction of these services will reduce the burden on Hajj pilgrims, allowing them to focus on their religious obligations without the distraction of logistical concerns.

Professor Yunus also recommended making the app more user-friendly and error-free in the future. He expressed confidence that as the app evolves, it will become an even more useful tool for Hajj pilgrims, making their experience in Saudi Arabia worry-free. The app's development team was praised by the Prime Adviser for their efforts in bringing this essential service to the public.

The app's features include live updates, prayer times, health tips, and guidance on the proper way to perform religious rituals during Hajj. This makes it a comprehensive tool for Hajj pilgrims to ensure they complete their pilgrimage efficiently and with peace of mind. Additionally, the app provides practical advice on managing daily tasks, such as transportation and accommodation, which are often challenging for pilgrims traveling from abroad.

The launch event was attended by several other prominent officials, including Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain, Cultural Affairs Adviser Mustafa Sarwar Faruqi, and the Special Assistant to the Prime Adviser, Faiz Ahmad Tayyeb. The presence of these officials highlighted the importance of the initiative in supporting Hajj pilgrims and enhancing the management of religious tourism in the country.

With this new mobile app, the government aims to make the Hajj journey smoother for all Bangladeshis embarking on the sacred pilgrimage. The app's easy-to-use interface and its ability to provide important updates and services in real-time will help ensure that pilgrims are well-prepared and less likely to face issues during their journey.

Overall, the introduction of 'Labbayk' marks a significant step towards modernizing Hajj management and making the pilgrimage more accessible for everyone involved. The app is expected to play a key role in improving the efficiency of Hajj travel and ensuring that pilgrims can focus entirely on their spiritual journey without worrying about the logistical challenges typically associated with international travel. The government plans to continue improving the app’s features and expand its reach in the coming years, making it a valuable tool for future Hajj pilgrims.
