65.9% of people think the election should only occur after all necessary reforms, as deemed by the interim government, are completed.
- A significant 61.1% of respondents favor holding the election within one year.
- A majority (65.9%) support holding the election after the interim government completes all necessary reforms.
- The preference for an election within one year is widespread across urban (60.4%) and rural (61.4%) areas, with a higher inclination among women (65%) compared to men (57.3%).
- Younger voters (18-34 years) show a 62.4% preference for an election within a year, while those over 35 years are slightly less inclined (59.8%).
- Only a small proportion (5.8%) supports an election after four years or more.
The survey, conducted from October 13 to October 27, 2024, also explores public opinion on whether the interim government is performing better or worse than the previous Awami League government. According to the results, 58.4% of people feel the interim government is doing a better job in governance, while 40.5% believe it is either performing similarly or worse.
In terms of law and order, 63.2% of respondents believe the interim government has performed better than the previous government in maintaining control.
