Education Adviser Chowdhury Rafiqul (CR) Abrar emphasized the need for a fair, peaceful, and well-organized environment for the 2025 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations. Speaking at a meeting of the National Monitoring and Law and Order Committee for the SSC exams held at the Ministry of Education on Sunday, he highlighted the numerous challenges this year’s exams present. These include addressing potential natural disasters, managing the current unstable environment, and countering any malpractice by unscrupulous groups. He stressed the importance of cooperation from law enforcement agencies and urged sensitive treatment of students while ensuring they receive their rightful grades.
Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Siddiq Zobair, outlined additional measures to prevent question paper leaks, including shutting down photocopy machines near exam centers and closing coaching centers nationwide during the exam period. He also called for vigilance in flood-prone areas and uninterrupted power supply during the exams. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting was requested to raise public awareness to counter rumors, while law enforcement agencies were urged to maintain order.
In 2025, a total of 1,490,142 students from nine general education boards will sit for the SSC exams, including 701,538 male and 788,604 female students. Exams will be held at 2,291 centers across 18,084 institutions. Under the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board, 294,726 students (150,893 male and 143,833 female) will take the exams at 725 centers in 9,063 institutions. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Technical Education Board will oversee exams for 143,313 students (108,385 male and 34,928 female).
