The presentation of the national budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 will now take place at 3 PM on Monday, June 2, instead of the previously scheduled time of 4 PM. The revised timing was confirmed in an official government press release issued on Sunday, June 1.
Economic Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed is set to deliver the budget speech before the nation from 3 PM, outlining the financial plans and allocations for the upcoming fiscal year. The speech, which will be recorded and broadcast, marks a shift from earlier plans that had indicated a 4 PM start time.
According to the press release, Bangladesh Television (BTV) will provide the live feed of the budget speech, which all private television channels and radio stations have been requested to broadcast simultaneously. This move is aimed at ensuring uniform dissemination of the national budget presentation to the broader public.
It was also mentioned in the same official communication that although the speech will be delivered at 3 PM, the recorded version of the budget presentation will be aired by BTV and Bangladesh Betar at 4 PM. This adjustment in timing comes just three days after the initial announcement regarding the 4 PM schedule.
Following the budget declaration, Economic Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed is expected to hold a press conference on the next day to address queries from the media and provide further insights into the government’s financial plans and priorities for the fiscal year 2025-26.
