Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh, Mafuz Alam, has expressed strong disapproval of those who oppose the Liberation War, stating that they will inevitably be defeated in the future. His remarks were made in a post on his verified Facebook account on the evening of Tuesday, January 28, 2025, where he warned that those who go against the Liberation War and the struggle for independence will face defeat, as they had in the past.

In his statement, Mafuz Alam emphasized the importance of acknowledging Bangladesh's Liberation War as a part of the nation's foundation and identity. He asserted that while historical events following the war could be debated, the core principle of Bangladesh’s independence should remain intact. According to him, even if individuals who fought in the Liberation War later adopted authoritarian views, the war itself remains the fight of the people.

Alam further explained that, despite some Liberation War participants becoming part of the political system after the war, no one has the right to deny the Liberation War or its heroes. Doing so, he claimed, amounts to betrayal of the very foundation of the state.

The Advisor also addressed the internal struggles within the country following the war, describing the power struggle between the Mujibist freedom fighters and the patriotic freedom fighters who opposed certain policies. However, he clarified that those who opposed the war and its outcomes would never find success in their efforts.

Emphasizing the importance of unity, he warned those threatening student leaders involved in the recent July Movement, stating that such actions are going against the history of the nation. He urged that the country should move forward by accepting the nation's historical milestones, particularly the independence and liberation struggles of 1971 and 2024.

Mafuz Alam concluded by advocating for unity, urging everyone to participate in democratic processes and avoid divisions that threaten national stability. He called for reforms and emphasized that those who threaten the leadership of the July Movement are taking a stand against the nation's historical progress.
