Dhaka, November 18 – All security passes for access to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka have been suspended, effective November 30. The decision was outlined in an urgent circular issued by the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority (CAAB), which surfaced in the media on Monday.
According to the circular, the suspension of previously issued passes aligns with CAAB's "Airport Pass Policy-2020." From November 30 onward, individuals requiring access to the airport must obtain new passes featuring an Aviation Security Force (AVSEC) ID number, issued under the authority of CAAB.
The initiative is part of CAAB's ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and security of passengers and all stakeholders associated with the airport. The circular emphasized that implementing this measure is a critical step in fulfilling CAAB’s pledge to enhance airport security protocols and align with international standards.
The announcement is expected to impact a wide range of airport personnel and stakeholders who regularly require access to secure areas. As the effective date approaches, CAAB is urging all relevant parties to secure the updated AVSEC passes to ensure uninterrupted operations.
