In the Sadarghat area, a man identifying himself as a leader of the Nationalist Workers' Party, Sajedul Islam Sajjad, is reportedly involved in extortion, terror activities, and seizing businesses from helpless individuals. His actions have created an atmosphere of fear among innocent and peace-loving residents. Many traders in the area are suffering immensely, with some already forced to shut down their businesses and live in dire conditions.

Sajjad and his associates have allegedly set up an office on the third floor of the Sadarghat Ladies Park Market, operating under the banner of the Noujan Sramik Dal (Boat Workers' Union). From this office, they are said to summon local business owners and demand extortion money. Despite directives from senior BNP Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman to cease such activities, Sajjad continues his unlawful operations.

Victims of his alleged extortion include canteen owners of launch vessels, oil traders, street vendors, and trailer business operators. None seem to be spared from his oppressive tactics. Sajjad, who was once a low-paid clerk on a launch, has reportedly amassed significant wealth and influence, while his reign of terror continues to grow unchecked.

The situation has reached a critical point, with many traders considering shutting down their businesses entirely if no legal action is taken against Sajjad and his associates. The local community is urging authorities to intervene and restore peace and stability to the area.
