The Amar Ekushey Book Fair in Chattogram will be held from February 1 to 26 at the gymnasium area of MA Aziz Stadium, organized by Chattogram City Corporation (CCP) and managed by the Chattogram Creative Publishers Association.

The decision was made during a preparatory meeting for the book fair, which took place on Tuesday, January 21, at the CCP building. The meeting was attended by publishers, authors, intellectuals, journalists, educators, and cultural leaders. The session was chaired by Sheikh Muhammad Tauhidul Islam, Chief Executive Officer of CCP and convener of the book fair committee. Dr. Shahadat Hossain, Mayor of Chattogram and chief advisor of the book fair committee, and Mohammad Shahab Uddin Hasan Babu, President of the Chattogram Creative Publishers Association and member secretary of the book fair committee, were present as special guests.

During the meeting, Chattogram Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain announced that the book fair will officially open on February 1. He emphasized that a committee has been formed to oversee the fair, including decisions about stall allocation and other essential aspects of the event. He further highlighted that this year's Amar Ekushey Book Fair will be an inclusive event, designed to encourage the participation of readers, writers, publishers, and professionals from all walks of life.

The Mayor expressed that the book fair would be a lively space, with efforts to ensure it remains vibrant throughout the month. He stated that books are true companions, and through the fair, the new generation would be enlightened by the light of knowledge, fostering a culture of reading and learning within the community.
