The incident occurred around 4:00 PM when a bus of the 'Ramjan Paribahan' company hit Ali Hossain Talukder, a motorcyclist, causing his immediate death. The authorities confirmed that the accident took place when the bus was heading from Rampura to Malibagh.

Rampura Police Station's Officer-in-Charge, Ataur Rahman Akand, shared that following the fatal accident, a group of agitated locals vandalized the bus and set it on fire. The fire department was notified at 4:15 PM, and two fire units were dispatched to the scene. However, by the time the fire units arrived, the fire had already been controlled.

The body of 35-year-old Ali Hossain Talukder was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for an autopsy. The incident sparked widespread protests, with the public showing their frustration over the accident, leading to clashes between them and the authorities.
