BFF Recognizes the Historic Achievement of Bangladesh Women’s Football Team with Significant Cash Prize
In recognition of their remarkable achievement in securing back-to-back SAFF Championship titles, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has announced a Tk 1.5 crore reward for the Bangladesh women’s football team.
This announcement came during the first meeting of BFF’s newly formed committee, which was held on Saturday morning. Although the meeting featured a record 28 agenda items, it concluded relatively swiftly. Following the session, BFF's Media Committee head, Amirul Islam Babu, briefed the press around 2:30 PM, confirming the decision to honor the SAFF-winning team with the cash prize.
“BFF will be awarding Tk 1.5 crore to the SAFF champion women’s team,” said Babu. “An award ceremony will be organized soon to formally present this to them.”
Babu also highlighted that this reward extends to everyone involved with the team, including support staff, stating, “Every member associated with the team will receive this reward from BFF.”
Previously, the Ministry of Sports had announced a Tk 1 crore reward for the champions, and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had also extended their support with a prize. The anticipation surrounding BFF's announcement has finally been fulfilled under the leadership of new President Tabith Awal.
