Bangladesh entered the ICC Champions Trophy with aspirations of winning the title but faced an early exit after failing to compete effectively against India and New Zealand. Their last group-stage match against Pakistan on Thursday also faces the threat of being abandoned due to rain.

Despite being eliminated from the group stage, Bangladesh is set to earn a significant amount from the tournament. The team is receiving participation fees from the Champions Trophy, and even if Bangladesh finishes eighth among the eight participating teams, they will still be awarded financial prizes.

According to the ICC’s announced prize money structure, the teams finishing seventh and eighth will receive $140,000, which is approximately BDT 17 million. Additionally, Bangladesh will earn a participation fee of $125,000, equating to around BDT 15.1 million. This means Bangladesh has already secured a total of BDT 32 million from the tournament.

The financial rewards could increase if Bangladesh manages to defeat Pakistan in their final group match. Each group-stage victory comes with a prize of $34,000 (BDT 4.1 million). If the match takes place and Bangladesh wins, they will earn BDT 4.1 million more than Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the tournament champion will receive prize money exceeding BDT 270 million, while the runner-up will take home nearly half of that amount.
