Bangladesh’s interim Chief Advisor, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, held a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Tuesday, January 21. The discussion occurred on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Summit in Davos, Switzerland. This information was confirmed by the Chief Advisor’s press wing later that evening.

Dr. Yunus traveled to Switzerland for the four-day official visit to attend the WEF Summit. He departed from Dhaka on Monday, January 20, at 1:00 a.m., accompanied by his delegation on an Emirates Airlines flight. Upon arrival in Switzerland on Tuesday afternoon, Dr. Yunus was received at Zurich Airport by Bangladesh's Permanent Representative to Geneva, Tariq Md. Ariful Islam.

During his stay, Dr. Yunus is expected to engage with global leaders and policymakers to discuss economic and social issues of international relevance. The meeting with Chancellor Scholz is considered a significant step towards fostering bilateral ties and exploring collaborative opportunities in areas of mutual interest.

Dr. Yunus is scheduled to return to Bangladesh on January 25, concluding his participation at the WEF Summit.
