Barrister Zaima Rahman, the daughter of former President Ziaur Rahman and ex-Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, has arrived in Washington D.C. to attend the prestigious National Prayer Breakfast. She is representing the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman.

Zaima Rahman arrived in Washington D.C. on Tuesday, February 4. She will attend the event, scheduled for February 5 and 6, which is a key gathering of global leaders and dignitaries aimed at promoting peace and unity through prayer.

Zaima Rahman is also the granddaughter of the late Ziaur Rahman, the founder of the BNP, and the only daughter of Tarique Rahman. The National Prayer Breakfast is an annual event that brings together individuals from diverse political and religious backgrounds to pray for world peace and humanity, with a special emphasis on unity across differences.

Originally, a BNP delegation, including Tarique Rahman, General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, and National Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, was invited to the event in January. However, Tarique Rahman did not travel to the U.S., and Zaima Rahman was chosen to represent him at the gathering.

The event will feature speeches from several dignitaries, including U.S. President Donald Trump, and will see members of Congress and the Senate in attendance. National Prayer Breakfast is known for attracting high-profile international figures who unite in a spirit of prayer, regardless of political affiliation, for the betterment of the world.
