The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has unveiled a comprehensive schedule for a series of political gatherings and protests across the country. These events are aimed at addressing several pressing demands, including keeping essential goods affordable, improving the law and order situation, announcing a clear roadmap for general elections, and countering what they describe as efforts to undermine democracy and install fascism.

In a press release issued on February 10, 2025, signed by BNP's Senior Joint Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, the party outlined its plans for public meetings and rallies set to take place from February 12 to February 25, 2025. The announcements include details of where the central leaders will be speaking and the schedule of events in various districts and cities.

Starting on February 12, BNP leaders will address gatherings in different locations. These include the permanent committee members, such as Goyeshwar Chandra Roy in Lalmonirhat, Nazrul Islam Khan in Sirajganj, Salah Uddin Ahmed in Feni, and Hafiz Uddin Ahmed in Khulna, along with vice-chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu in Brahmanbaria, among others. A notable part of the plan includes the participation of various other senior members, such as Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal in Patuakhali and Ariful Haque Chowdhury in Sunamganj.

The rallies will continue on February 17, with BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir set to speak in Jessore. This event will be accompanied by speeches from other leaders like Abdul Moin Khan in Tangail, Selima Rahman in Madaripur, Abdul Awal Mintu in Chandpur, and Shamsuzzaman Dudu in Thakurgaon, as well as other party members from various districts.

On February 18, the party will host gatherings featuring leaders such as Salah Uddin Ahmed in Cox's Bazar, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku in Pabna, and Shamsuzzaman Dudu in Panchagarh. Further events will also take place on February 19, with prominent party figures such as Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury in Noakhali, Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal in Sylhet, and Fazlur Rahman in Kishoreganj scheduled to speak.

BNP’s intense schedule of protests and rallies continues throughout February, with numerous leaders, including Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in Dhaka, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury in Lakshmipur, and Selima Rahman in Barisal South, making appearances. The party aims to convey its message of demanding a timely election, restoring order, and combating fascist influences.

The political climate in Bangladesh has been tense, with the opposition party urging the government to ensure that the upcoming general elections are free and fair. BNP has also raised concerns over what it considers to be the government's failure in managing the economy and maintaining security. The ongoing protests are seen as an attempt to mobilize public opinion ahead of the anticipated electoral process. The party hopes these actions will catalyze reforms and guarantee a more democratic environment for the citizens of Bangladesh.

As the national political scene heats up, these series of protests and public meetings are expected to play a significant role in shaping the discourse around governance, the rule of law, and the future of Bangladesh’s electoral landscape.
