BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has accused Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of failing to quench her "bloodthirsty" mindset despite alleged state-sponsored violence. Speaking as the chief guest at an iftar event organized by the Doctors' Association of Bangladesh (DAB) in Rangpur on Tuesday evening, Rizvi claimed, "Even after shedding the blood of thousands of children, youths, and activists, her thirst for vengeance remains unfulfilled. She continues to order killings driven by vendetta—something unimaginable for a sane person."

Rizvi alleged that the Awami League leader had "destroyed democracy" to cling to power, citing the "voter-less" 2014 election, "midnight vote rigging" in 2018, and the "dummy election" of 2024 as unprecedented in history. He dismissed Obaidul Quader’s claim that "one lakh people would die if AL loses power," asserting no such chaos occurred post-5 August.

On healthcare, Rizvi argued that systemic failures force Bangladeshis to seek treatment abroad despite local doctors' capabilities. He cited cricketer Tamim Iqbal’s recovery under domestic medical care as proof of local expertise, blaming the government for eroding public trust in the sector.

The event, chaired by DAB Rangpur Medical College President Prof. Dr. Mahamudul Haque Sarkar, was attended by BNP health affairs secretary Dr. Rafiqul Islam, city unit leaders, and physicians including Dr. Khalequzzaman Badal and Dr. Delwar Hossain Sarkar.
