BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie has stated that if the BNP comes to power, the country will be governed based on consensus and unity. He highlighted that the BNP’s 31-point agenda includes significant reforms, which align with the current interim government’s calls for change. Annie emphasized that reforms should be swiftly completed based on collective opinions, paving the way for elections.

He made these remarks on Tuesday (March 4) during the closing ceremony and prize distribution of the Late Arafat Rahman Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament at Lakshmipur Government College Ground.

Annie further stated, “The previous government pushed the country backward. To recover, we need reforms on one hand and a representative government on the other. We are looking forward to a fair and neutral election. The BNP is a popular, modern, and moderate party in this country.”

He added, “After August 5, there has been a qualitative change in the country’s politics. Now, the people want a qualitative change in political leadership. If a moderate party like the BNP cannot deliver this, no one else can. Everyone must remain vigilant to ensure no one can conspire against Bangladesh.”

The event was chaired by Wahid Uddin Chowdhury Happy, Vice President of the Bangladesh Football Federation, and moderated by Mahbub Alam Mamun, Advisor to College Road Sports Association. Other speakers included Advocate Hasibur Rahman, Joint Convener of District BNP; Md. Abdul Monnaf, Acting Officer of Sadar Thana; Rezaul Karim Liton, President of District Jubo Dal; Abdur Rab Shamim, former Vice President of District Football Association; Mohsin Kabir Swapan; Hasan Mahmud Ibrahim, President of District Chhatra Dal; Abdullah Al Mamun, General Secretary; and club presidents Aminul Islam Raju and Abdullah Al Khalid.

The BNP leader’s remarks underscore the party’s commitment to reforms, inclusive governance, and a fair electoral process to address the nation’s challenges.
