A delegation from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is scheduled to meet with the Chief Adviser, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, on the evening of February 10 to discuss the ongoing political situation in the country. The meeting, set to take place at the Chief Adviser's official residence, Jamuna, at 6 p.m., will focus on various critical issues concerning the national political landscape.

BNP’s Standing Committee member, Nazrul Islam Khan, indicated that the party intends to raise the issue of the national election roadmap during the meeting. He stated that the Chief Adviser would announce the timeline for the upcoming national elections, and BNP wishes to present its position on the matter.

The specific members of the BNP delegation who will attend the meeting have not yet been disclosed. However, the party has made it clear that they will be expressing their concerns over the recent wave of violence, including attacks, vandalism, and arson, that has led to a deteriorating law and order situation in the country. BNP has strongly condemned the ongoing chaos and stated that they do not support such acts of violence. The party emphasized that such an environment should not arise six months after a popular uprising and believes the recent unrest is part of a deliberate attempt to delay the election process.

According to BNP leaders, the responsibility for the current state of disorder lies with the interim government, which they accuse of failing to control the situation. They assert that the government must take decisive action to restore order, and any failure to do so could lead to an escalation of the ongoing instability.

In line with decisions made during the BNP Standing Committee meeting held last Friday, the party will raise its concerns about the situation during the meeting with the Chief Adviser. The BNP leaders aim to highlight their apprehensions about the current situation and advocate for urgent steps to address the challenges facing the country.
