A daring robbery took place at Crown Diamond & Jewelers, a jewelry store located in Simanto Square Shopping Mall, Dhanmondi, on Friday, January 3, during the midday hours coinciding with Friday prayers. The incident has prompted an active investigation by the police.
Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Dhanmondi Model Police Station, confirmed the robbery and shared preliminary details. He stated that the theft occurred shortly after 1:00 PM at the ground-floor establishment of the mall. Security footage from the store’s surveillance cameras is being reviewed, showing scenes of the perpetrators stealing gold ornaments. Efforts to identify the individuals involved are currently underway.
The police official further mentioned that discussions are ongoing with the store owner, the shopping mall authorities, and the mall’s security personnel. While no formal case has been filed yet, procedural steps are being taken to ensure the incident is thoroughly investigated and legal measures are initiated.
