In response to the nationwide disruption in train services caused by the ongoing strike by Bangladesh Railway's running staff, BRTC (Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation) has launched bus services on critical rail routes to mitigate passenger inconvenience. The announcement was made on Tuesday, as thousands of passengers faced unexpected travel disruptions due to halted train operations.

An emergency notification from Bangladesh Railway stated that the decision to introduce BRTC bus services aims to provide immediate relief to stranded passengers and ensure connectivity across the country.

Passengers holding previously purchased train tickets can now travel to and from major destinations such as Chattogram, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Khulna, Cumilla, Bogura, and Mymensingh using the BRTC buses. Similarly, passengers from these regions can use the service to reach Dhaka. This temporary arrangement will remain in effect until further notice.

The railway authority clarified that the strike has disrupted train services nationwide, leaving travelers in distress. Despite substantial acceptance of the running staff’s demands, the strike organizers have not withdrawn their pre-announced program. As a result, train operations were suspended from January 28, causing widespread delays and cancellations.

To address the grievances of passengers, Bangladesh Railway also assured that tickets for canceled train journeys would be fully refunded. Officials emphasized their commitment to resolving the crisis but expressed frustration over the strike's continuation despite prior negotiations.

With BRTC buses now operational, passengers are advised to utilize the alternative service to minimize disruption to their travel plans. This development underscores the railway's efforts to manage the unprecedented situation while working towards a resolution to resume train operations.
