The Tejgaon Industrial Area Police have arrested two individuals, including the main culprit, for allegedly framing a chartered accountant (CA), Hasan Ali, with yaba pills in a conspiracy. The accused are Faruk Mia Suman and Arif Imran Khan.

The details of the arrest were shared in a press release issued on Saturday, February 22, by Mohammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of the Media and Public Relations Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). The Tejgaon Industrial Area Police station provided further information, stating that the incident occurred on February 2. On that evening, Hasan Ali, accompanied by his colleagues Bashar and Imam Hossain, left their office at the Rahmans Regnam Center building in Tejgaon, Dhaka. As they left the office, two unknown individuals followed them, and soon 8 to 10 people surrounded Hasan and started beating him. During the assault, the attackers secretly placed 193 yaba pills in his pocket.

Following the incident, police arrived at the scene, detained Hasan, and filed a case against him. He was subsequently sent to jail. After news of the incident was reported, DMP Commissioner directed an investigation, leading to the arrest of Faruk Mia Suman on February 5. Based on his information, the main conspirator, Arif Imran Khan, was also arrested.

Police revealed that the motive behind the framing of Hasan Ali was related to a workplace dispute. Arif Imran Khan, a colleague of Hasan, devised the plan to frame him. Faruk, a former driver, was promised a reward for his involvement in the conspiracy.

DMP's Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Ops) SN Nazrul Islam confirmed that the truth behind the incident had been uncovered and assured that no police personnel were involved. He stated that the main suspects had been arrested, and one of them had confessed to the crime in court.

Hasan Ali, the victim, spoke about his ordeal, stating that he had been wrongfully framed by his colleague and had to endure seven days in jail despite being innocent. He was granted bail on February 9 and released from custody.
