Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus Meets Presidents of Three Nations at COP-29 Summit

At the United Nations COP-29 Climate Change Conference, Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus met with Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Bosnia and Herzegovina President Denis Bećirović to discuss collaborative efforts on climate action.

On Tuesday, November 12, the Chief Adviser led Bangladesh’s delegation at the annual climate summit and held productive meetings with prominent leaders, including the heads of state of Azerbaijan. This information was confirmed by a statement from the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing.

Additionally, Professor Yunus exchanged greetings with Liechtenstein’s Prime Minister Daniel Risch and Bhutan’s Prime Minister Lotay Tshering during the COP-29 conference.

Earlier, on Monday, November 11, the Chief Adviser and his delegation departed for Azerbaijan on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at 11:00 AM Bangladesh time. Professor Yunus will be on an official visit to Azerbaijan from November 11 to 14 for the climate summit, where he is scheduled to deliver speeches at various forums and engage with key global figures.

At COP-29, Professor Yunus is expected to highlight Bangladesh’s proactive role in tackling climate change on the global stage and advocate for stronger international collaboration to address climate challenges.
