In his address to the nation on Sunday evening, marking the 100th day of the Interim Government, Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus assured that no family of the martyrs or injured individuals from the July uprising would be excluded from rehabilitation and care plans.

While paying tribute to the countless martyrs of the Liberation War and those who lost their lives in the anti-fascist uprising of July-August, Dr. Yunus emphasized that the government is fully committed to supporting the victims. He declared, “The families of all martyrs will be rehabilitated. Not a single one will be left out. The government will bear the full cost of medical treatment for all injured students, workers, and citizens.”

Dr. Yunus further outlined the steps the government is taking to provide long-term care for the injured and support for the martyr’s families. He stated that a comprehensive list of medical treatments and rehabilitation plans has been prepared under the leadership of the Ministry of Health. As part of this initiative, the families of each martyr will receive 3 million taka from the government.

For those who lost their vision due to bullet injuries, arrangements have been made to bring corneas from Nepal for treatment. Additionally, those requiring medical care abroad will be sent for treatment, ensuring that no injured individual or martyr’s family member will be left without support. This, the Chief Adviser stressed, is a solemn commitment from the Interim Government.

Dr. Yunus also highlighted the establishment of the “July Martyrs’ Memorial Foundation,” which has already started its work to preserve the memory of the martyrs of the July uprising. The government has allocated 100 crore taka to this foundation. Moreover, the Ministry of Social Welfare has submitted a proposal for a 5 million USD allocation through the Economic Relations Division to the World Bank to ensure the rehabilitation of the martyr’s families and the best possible treatment for the injured.
