At least 15 people, including six police officers, were injured during a violent clash between two rival teen gangs in Madaripur on Friday night. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. in the Puratan Tralargat area of the Sadar Upazila. One critically injured individual has been transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.

According to police and local sources, the altercation stemmed from an ongoing rivalry between two groups: one led by Nirab Bepari from the Launchghat area and the other by Nayeem Bhuiyan from the Purb Rashti area. The dispute over local dominance escalated into a violent confrontation, with both groups wielding makeshift weapons.

As tensions erupted, local authorities were alerted, and officers from the Sadar Model Police Station attempted to bring the situation under control. Additional support from an army unit was called in to contain the violence. Despite their efforts, the clash resulted in injuries to six police officers and multiple participants from both sides.

Among the injured, Rifat Dhali sustained critical injuries from an alleged crude bomb explosion and was transported to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for specialized care. The remaining injured individuals received treatment at nearby facilities.

Police detained at least 10 individuals from the scene and are conducting further investigations into the incident. Authorities have assured that measures will be taken to prevent such violent disputes in the future.
