Dhaka, January 29 – A total of 21 new dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours, as reported by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The update, issued on Wednesday, stated that the admissions were spread across various regions in the country.
According to the report, among the new admissions, five patients were from the Barishal Division (outside city corporations), one from the Chattogram Division (outside city corporations), seven from the Dhaka Division (outside city corporations), six from the Dhaka North City Corporation, and two from the Dhaka South City Corporation.
During the same 24-hour period, 17 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals after receiving necessary treatment. So far, a total of 971 patients have been discharged in 2025.
As of today, the country has recorded a total of 1,132 cases of dengue in 2025. Fortunately, no deaths due to dengue were reported in the last 24 hours, keeping the total number of fatalities this year at 10.
In 2024, the country witnessed a significant outbreak of dengue, with 101,214 reported cases from January 1 to December 31. During the same period, 575 people died from the mosquito-borne disease. Despite the ongoing efforts to control the spread of dengue, health authorities continue to urge the public to take preventive measures, particularly in areas with higher rates of infection.
