Dhaka, 18 November: Six more people have died from dengue in Bangladesh, bringing the total number of fatalities this year to 421. According to the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services, 1,083 new cases of dengue were reported in the 24-hour period between Sunday morning and Monday morning.
Of the new cases, 639 patients were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka, while 444 others were hospitalized outside the capital.
Since the beginning of the year, a total of 81,068 people have been diagnosed with dengue in the country, with 63.1% of them being male and 36.9% female. The fatalities this year are evenly split, with 49.6% male and 50.4% female.
