Speaking as the chief guest at a symbolic protest program organized by the grassroots citizens' movement in front of the National Press Club on Sunday, Farroque emphasized the urgency of electoral reforms and the need for immediate parliamentary elections.

Farroque stated, 'The demolition of the house at 32 Dhanmondi, from where orders for enforced disappearances and killings were issued, was justified. There has been no criminal directive that has not originated from that house. When I was tortured in front of Parliament by DB Harun, the news was delivered directly to that house.'

He continued, 'How can a fugitive fascist openly make declarations? What is the interim government doing? What are the responsible authorities doing? His provocative statements have led to anarchy in the country. The accomplices of fascism have started new conspiracies. If these conspiracies are not countered, the interim government will fail, and we cannot allow that to happen.'

Addressing the chief advisor, Farroque remarked, 'You are a good and wise person. If election reforms delay the elections, the country will plunge into a deeper crisis. Announce the election roadmap immediately and hand over responsibilities to a democratically elected government. That way, the conspirators will not get another chance.'

The event was presided over by Mofizur Rahman Liton, president of the grassroots citizens' movement. Also present were BNP Assistant Office Secretary Taiful Islam Tipu, BNP Information and Technology Secretary Saif Ali Khan, BNP Executive Committee member and former MP Bilkis Islam, NDP General Secretary Md. Manjur Hossain Isa, Senior Joint Convener of the Jatiyatabadi Weavers' Party Dr. Kazi Moniruzzaman, Senior Joint Convener of the Olama Party Maulana Alamgir Hossain, former member of the Jatiyatabadi Fisheries Party's convening committee Ismail Hossain Siraji, General Secretary of the Muktijuddher Projonmo Central Committee Md. Ibrahim Hossain, Central Committee member of the Farmers' Party Ramiz Uddin Rumi, Acting General Secretary of the People's Party Bilkis Islam, and BNP leader from Paltan Thana Firoz Patwari.
