In a grand event, the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) unveiled its 11th edition's theme song and graffiti, with the participation of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). This year's BPL has garnered attention due to the involvement of Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor of the interim government. It was previously reported that Dr. Yunus had a significant role in this year's tournament, and his contribution was revealed during the theme song launch.
The theme song for this year’s BPL includes several lines penned by Dr. Yunus himself, a fact that was shared by Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan. During the event, Sajeeb expressed his gratitude to the BCB for involving Dr. Yunus in this year’s proceedings. "As you know, this time we are honored to have our respected Chief Advisor, Dr. Yunus, involved in the BPL. When I first proposed this idea to him, he has been a part of several major events like the Olympics in Paris, contributing valuable inputs. We asked him to lend his support to this event, and he graciously agreed," Sajeeb remarked.
Sajeeb further shared that he did not expect Dr. Yunus to be personally involved in the theme song creation process. "I didn’t expect Sir to be this personally involved. Sir and his team have contributed far more than even I had anticipated. He even wrote several lines for the theme song. We are extremely grateful for his invaluable input," he added.
The unveiling ceremony featured a stunning graffiti artwork that incorporated symbolic images from the July Revolution, enhancing the visual aspect of the event. The theme song, titled "Abar Eloo BPL" (BPL is Back), was performed by a diverse group of artists, including US-based singer Muza, band artist Raif Al Hasan Rafa, and rapper Hannan Hossain Shimul. The song perfectly captured the energy and excitement surrounding the much-anticipated cricket tournament.
This year’s BPL promises to be a remarkable event, not only because of the thrilling cricket matches but also due to the collaborative effort and significant contributions from Dr. Yunus, further enhancing the spirit of national unity and sportsmanship.
