Interim government’s Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus, is set to visit China, Thailand, and Japan between March and May to enhance international cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations.
Dr. Yunus is expected to leave Dhaka for China on March 26 after attending Bangladesh’s Independence Day celebrations. He will participate in the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2025 in Hainan from March 25-28 before heading to Beijing for a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on March 28.
In Thailand, he is likely to attend the BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok on April 4, where a potential one-on-one meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is being considered.
Additionally, in Japan, Dr. Yunus will attend the 30th Future of Asia event in Tokyo on May 29-30 and is also expected to visit the Osaka Expo 2025. Efforts are underway to arrange a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba.
