The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has imposed a foreign travel ban on five former members of parliament (MPs) and their family members. This decision was taken on the very first day of the newly formed commission’s operation, signaling a strong stance against corruption.

The list of individuals facing the travel ban includes Alauddin Ahmed Chowdhury Nasim from Feni-1 constituency, Noor Nabi Chowdhury Shawon from Bhola-3 constituency, Abu Zahir from Habiganj-3 constituency, H.M. Ibrahim from Noakhali-1 constituency, and Noor Uddin Chowdhury Nayan from Lakshmipur-2 constituency. The decision aims to ensure that the individuals under scrutiny cannot leave the country while investigations proceed.

The ACC’s move demonstrates a renewed commitment to addressing allegations of corruption and maintaining accountability among public officials.
