Former State Minister for Home Affairs under the BNP government, Lutfozzaman Babar, has been admitted to a hospital in Dubai after falling ill while traveling to Saudi Arabia for Umrah. He was hospitalized late on Thursday night (January 30) after experiencing sudden health complications.
According to Zakir Hossain, the convener of the UAE BNP, Babar departed from Dhaka on Thursday afternoon on an Emirates Airlines flight, accompanied by his wife, two daughters, and son. The flight landed in Dubai at approximately 10:30 PM local time. During the journey, Babar began to feel chest pain. Upon arrival at Dubai International Airport, he was given initial medical attention before being transferred to a hospital for further treatment.
His wife and two daughters continued their journey to Saudi Arabia as planned, while his son, Labib, stayed back with him in Dubai. Once his health stabilizes, Babar intends to proceed to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. Following the pilgrimage, he is scheduled to travel with his family to Singapore for further medical treatment.
It has been confirmed that along with his immediate family, Abdus Rahim Ripon, the Member Secretary of the BNP’s Moulvibazar District unit, was also part of the travel group.
