On Wednesday, January 15, four reform commissions submitted their reports to Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of the Interim Government. The reports were handed over at the Chief Adviser’s Office in Tejgaon.

Shafiqul Alam, the Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, confirmed via a Facebook post that the Constitution Reform Commission had submitted its recommendations. Along with it, reports from the Election Commission, the Anti-Corruption Commission, and the Police Reform Commission were also submitted.

Following the submission, the government plans to review the reports and engage in discussions about their content. A press conference has been scheduled for 3:00 PM today to provide detailed information about the proposals to the media.

The commissions were established through a notification issued by the interim government on October 3 last year. These included the Election Commission, Judiciary Reform Commission, Anti-Corruption Commission, Police Reform Commission, and a Public Administration Reform Commission. Later, on October 7, a separate Constitution Reform Commission was formed. In a second phase, additional commissions focusing on media, health, labor, women’s affairs, and local government systems were also established.

Initially, the commissions were instructed to submit their reports within 90 days. However, the tenure of the first five commissions was extended until January 15, while the Judiciary Reform Commission's deadline was extended further to January 31.

The reforms are seen as critical steps toward addressing systemic issues and strengthening governance mechanisms in the country.
