French Ambassador to Bangladesh, Marie Masdupuy, met with BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday afternoon at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan. The meeting, which lasted for about an hour, was attended by BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and Organizing Secretary Shama Obayed. Accompanying the French Ambassador was Christian Beck, Political Adviser at the French Embassy.
Following the meeting, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury briefed the media, stating that Bangladesh and France share a long-standing relationship. Various bilateral issues, including elections, economic matters, and contemporary developments, were discussed during the meeting. The ambassador inquired about these topics, and the BNP leaders provided their perspectives.
The discussion comes at a time when Bangladesh’s political landscape is undergoing significant changes, with the international community showing keen interest in the country’s political and economic affairs. The meeting is viewed as part of ongoing diplomatic engagements aimed at strengthening ties between France and Bangladesh while addressing key issues of mutual concern.
