Gold prices in Bangladesh have increased once again, with the price of 22-carat gold rising by Tk 1,666 per bhori (11.664 grams). This adjustment brings the price of the highest quality gold to Tk 138,339 per bhori. The new rates will be effective starting Tuesday, December 10, according to an announcement by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).

The decision was communicated in a press release signed by Masudur Rahman, Chairman of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Monitoring, on Monday, December 9. The statement explained that despite a decline in the price of raw gold in the local market, the price of finished gold products has been revised upward due to market conditions. The announcement follows a previous price cut of Tk 1,481 per bhori on December 1.

As per the revised rates, the price of 22-carat gold is set at Tk 138,339 per bhori, while 21-carat gold will cost Tk 132,095 per bhori. The prices for 18-carat gold and gold processed using traditional methods are Tk 113,234 and Tk 92,939 per bhori, respectively.

Despite the changes in gold prices, silver prices remain unchanged. Currently, 22-carat silver is priced at Tk 2,578 per bhori, 21-carat at Tk 2,449 per bhori, 18-carat at Tk 2,111 per bhori, and traditionally processed silver at Tk 1,586 per bhori.

The adjustments reflect ongoing evaluations of the gold market in Bangladesh. BAJUS stated that these updates are based on fluctuations in international gold prices and the local demand-supply dynamics, aiming to ensure fair pricing for both consumers and traders.
