Like every year, the Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) has announced a program to distribute healthy and nutritious meals for Iftar to thousands of homeless and underprivileged people during the holy month of Ramadan. The mass Iftar program will be held daily at 5 PM at the Bijoy-71 Square adjacent to the party's central office. The announcement was made during a press conference held at the party's central office at 11 AM on Saturday by the party's Chairman, Majibur Rahman Manju.

Manju stated that with the arrival of Ramadan, there is always a fear of artificial price hikes of essential commodities, and criminal activities such as theft, robbery, and chaos tend to increase. In the past, syndicates, extortionist groups, and party-backed terrorists supported by the government were often involved in such activities. However, the current interim government is not aligned with any specific political party, and there are no syndicates or extortionist groups backed by them. He questioned why, then, this Ramadan cannot be free from fear and uncertainty, and why people cannot observe their religious practices in peace and security.

Manju emphasized that controlling commodity prices, maintaining law and order, and reducing traffic congestion during Ramadan are crucial tests for the government. He warned that if the government fails to address these issues, doubts will arise about its ability to conduct a free, fair, impartial, and participatory election.

He also called for special measures to alleviate public suffering in transportation across the country, including reducing traffic congestion in Dhaka, with the joint cooperation of the army and police.

Manju described AB Party's nationwide program to distribute healthy and nutritious Iftar meals to the underprivileged as a model initiative. He urged affluent individuals, as well as various political and social organizations, to take similar initiatives for public welfare. Those who cannot organize such programs themselves can contribute by donating food items or cash to AB Party's fund to participate in this noble cause, he added.

The press conference was also addressed by AB Party Vice Chairmen Lt. Col. (Retd.) Didarul Alam and Lt. Col. (Retd.) Helal Uddin. Among those present were Vice Chairman BM Nazmul Haque, Joint General Secretary Advocate Abdullah Al Mamun Rana, ABM Khalid Hasan, Youth Party Convener Shahadatullah Tutul, Dhaka Metropolitan South Joint Convener Abdul Halim Khokon, Metropolitan North Member Secretary Selim Khan, Central Agriculture Affairs Secretary Akhtaruzzaman, Assistant Office Secretary Abdul Halim Nannu, Sharan Chowdhury, Assistant Volunteer Secretary Tofazzal Hossain Romiz, Youth Party Metropolitan North Member Secretary Shahinur Akter Sheela, Assistant Publicity Secretary Ripon Mahmud, youth leader Imran Hossain Shiblu, and leaders from various levels of the central and metropolitan committees.

The AB Party's initiative aims to provide relief to the underprivileged during Ramadan while calling on the government to ensure price stability, law and order, and efficient transportation systems. The party hopes that its efforts will inspire others to contribute to the welfare of society during this holy month.
