Due to the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations and weekly holidays, trade operations through Dinajpur’s Hili Land Port will remain suspended for nine consecutive days starting Friday. However, immigration services for passport-holding passengers between Bangladesh and India will continue as usual during this period.
Nazmul Haque, General Secretary of the Hili Land Port Import-Export Group, stated that trade activities will be closed on Friday due to the weekly holiday. Additionally, import-export through the port will remain halted from March 29 to April 6 in observance of Eid-ul-Fitr. All concerned, including Indian traders, have been informed of the suspension through official correspondence.
Ariful Islam, the officer-in-charge of the Hili Immigration Checkpost, confirmed that cross-border travel via passport will remain unaffected. Passengers can use the checkpost daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. except during government holidays.
