According to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), inflation in the country decreased slightly in December but remains above 10%. In November, inflation stood at 11.38%, which has decreased in December. Last month, food inflation dropped to 12.92%, compared to 13.80% in the previous month. At the same time, non-food inflation also saw a slight decline.
In December, the overall inflation rate was recorded at 10.89%. Both food and non-food inflation showed some signs of easing, but inflation continues to stay above 10%. This information was revealed in the latest report published by the BBS.
BBS data indicates that the overall inflation in the country was 11.38% in November, which has decreased in December. Food inflation dropped to 12.92% last month, compared to 13.80% in the previous month. During this period, non-food inflation also showed a slight reduction.
Both rural and urban areas experienced a decrease in inflation. Analysts believe that the arrival of winter vegetables in the market helped reduce prices, contributing to the overall decline in inflation.
