Injured participants of the July Revolution are set to receive employment opportunities within various police units, according to Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury. Initially, 100 individuals will be recruited, with plans for gradual expansion of the initiative in the coming months.
The advisor shared this update on Tuesday, January 7, during his visit to the Special Branch and CID offices of the police. He emphasized the government's commitment to addressing the needs of those affected by the events of the July Revolution.
In addition to this initiative, the Home Affairs Advisor revealed that a proposal has been submitted to engage 1,000 students in traffic duties. These students would be assigned shifts of three to four hours, aiming to ease traffic management and provide temporary employment opportunities.
Regarding the broader socio-political context, he noted that after the events of August 5, many individuals left the country, citing the lack of a functioning government during that period as a key factor. Since the formation of a stable administration, those who departed under suspicious circumstances are now under heightened scrutiny as part of ongoing investigations.
The Home Affairs Advisor reiterated the government’s intent to ensure a fair resolution for those affected by the July Revolution while simultaneously addressing security and administrative challenges.
