British-Bangladeshi footballer and English Premier League star Hamza Choudhury has arrived in his ancestral homeland, Bangladesh, to represent the country on the football field. On Monday afternoon, Choudhury landed at Sylhet’s Osmani International Airport on a flight from the UK, where he was greeted by a large crowd of football enthusiasts, media personnel, and YouTubers. Fans chanted slogans and warmly welcomed him as he exited the airport’s VIP gate.
During a brief interaction with journalists, Choudhury expressed his excitement about playing for Bangladesh. When asked about his goals and feelings, he humorously admitted, “I don’t understand much,” before confidently stating, “Insha Allah, we will win. I have big dreams. I will work with Coach Javier. Insha Allah, we will progress and win.”
Reflecting on the overwhelming crowd, he said, “It’s amazing, amazing. I’m thrilled to be back in the country after so long.” Although he wished to answer more questions, Bangladesh Football Federation (BAFF) officials escorted him to the VIP lounge. Later, he departed for his ancestral home in Habiganj in an open-top car, waving to fans lining the roads.
Choudhury’s visit has sparked immense enthusiasm among football fans, who are eagerly anticipating his contribution to the national team.
