Students of Jagannath University (JUB) who have been on hunger strike protesting the transfer of the university’s second campus construction to the army and demanding temporary accommodation for students have given the university administration an ultimatum.

At 12:30 PM today, the students, who have been fasting in front of the university’s Shaheed Minar, addressed the media and declared that they would take further action if their demands were not addressed within the next hour.

A student from the Botany department, batch 13, AKM Rakib, expressed their frustration, stating that the university administration had failed to provide any clear response so far. Rakib mentioned that there had been no communication from the government either. He emphasized that the students would wait until 1:30 PM today for any response from the Ministry, UGC, army officials, or the university administration. If no official meeting or statement was issued by that time, the students would begin a march to the Secretariat from the university's main gate.

The hunger strike and the ultimatum highlight growing unrest among the students, who have been voicing concerns over the handling of the second campus development and the lack of proper facilities for students. The situation is expected to escalate if the authorities fail to meet the students' demands.
